Hampton University, offers a rich academic environment that upholds character and cultivates leaders. Through global scientific collaborations, cutting-edge research projects and increased technological enhancements on the campus, Hampton University has emerged as a leading research institution of higher education. Hampton offers students innovative degrees, as well as degrees in nursing, physics, atmospheric/planetary sciences, business leadership and administration, educational leadership and management, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
Located in Huntsville, Alabama, and founded in 1961, J.F. Drake State Technical College, awards Associate in Applied Technology degrees. The College is dedicated to the teaching and advancement of the highest caliber of technical skills obtained through state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Its electronics program has been recognized by the National Science Foundation for its research, development and shared training programs in the area of embedded technologies.
Johnson C. Smith University is Charlotte’s Premier Independent Urban University. Founded in 1867, JCSU flourishes as one of the nation’s oldest academically advanced liberal arts colleges. Providing tomorrow’s risk oriented, entrepreneurial leaders with a quality education, JCSU is also a catalyst for economic success and sustainability for its students and residents of the greater Charlotte community.
Morgan State University, founded in 1867, is a Carnegie classified doctoral research institution offering more than 60 academic programs leading to bachelor’s degrees, as well as programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. As Maryland’s public urban university, Morgan serves a multi-ethnic and multi-racial student body and seeks to ensure that the doors of higher education are opened as wide as possible to as many as possible.
Established in 1876 as a land-grant institution, Prairie View A&M University is the second oldest public university in Texas, dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and service. Additionally, undergraduate and graduate students learn the value of working with their communities through service opportunities that are woven into class curricula and student life. Known for “producing productive people,” Prairie View A&M University has produced some of the world’s top leaders.
Rust College (previously Shaw University) was founded in 1866. Rust is a four-year, historically black, co-educational, senior liberal arts college, providing quality education in the fields of Education, Humanities, Science and Mathematics, Business, Social Science, and Freshman Studies. Rust College offers well-rounded, innovative programs designed to acquaint students with cultural, moral, and spiritual values, both in theory and in practice.
Founded in 1878, Selma University’s mission is to prepare men and women for Christian ministry and Christian living in the modern world based on the example of Jesus Christ. As a Christian Bible college, Selma University seeks to stimulate its students spiritually, intellectually and socially and to produce graduates who are servant leaders in their churches, communities and chosen areas of wisdom.
Founded in 1948, Southwestern Christian College is a four-year educational college, offering Bachelor’s degrees in Bible and Religious Education, with a two-year associate degree program in liberal arts. Located in Terrell, Texas, the campus stands on the first dwelling erected in Terrell. Southwestern offers a holistic educational program that motivates students to value and achieve academic excellence within the context of commitment to moral and spiritual values.
Founded in 1867, St. Augustine’s College is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. St. Augustine’s mission is to sustain a learning community in which students can prepare academically, socially and spiritually for leadership in a complex, diverse and rapidly changing world. The college’s core curriculum is liberal arts, which is augmented with rigorous, in-depth programs in business, computer science, teacher education, the natural sciences, mathematics, interdisciplinary studies, theater and film to name a few.
Talladega College, founded in 1867, is among the oldest liberal colleges in the nation. Located in the historic district of the city of Talladega, Alabama, the college is ranked as one of the top 20 liberal arts colleges in the nation. Eighty percent of all graduates attend graduate or professional school. It is also ranked as the 2nd highest producer of black Ph.D.’s in America.
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) is an 1890 Land-Grant HBCU with a diverse student population, offering competitive degrees and stellar faculty. Known as the “Flagship of the Delta,” UAPB is the second oldest public university in Arkansas, and has more than 100 years of experience in solving problems. UAPB offers thirty Undergraduate programs, Master degree programs, Certificate and Associate degree programs.
Wiley College, located in Marshall, Texas was founded in 1873 and is one of the oldest predominantly black colleges west of the Mississippi River. Through a tradition of educational excellence and leadership, Wiley College became a pathway to scholarship, a vista of values, and bulwark of integrity. Wiley College is committed to providing students with a broad liberal arts and career-oriented education in a Christian environment, promoting teaching and learning excellence, and daring its students to have the audacity to succeed.
